What is REG05 (the Digi-unit)?

REG05 is an ERC20 token tracked on the public Ethereum blockchain. It is a Digi Unit collateralised by real assets including but not limited to livestock and other supply chain assets. There are only 100,000 REG05 tokens available in circulation.

The REG05 is a first generation Digi Unit. Other REG digital units may be minted and issued in the future.

Digi-units are securities issued by an Australian Financial Services Licence and are issued via specific offers (with full and legally compliant Product Disclosure Statements). They are;

  • Exchangeable (or paired with) $BEEF tokens and possibly other ERC20 tokens; and

  • Fungible within their class.

What are the use cases of REG05?

REG05 Digi-units’ value are underpinned by tangible supply assets and business activities, such as:

  1. Livestock;

  2. Land (mortgages and use rights);

  3. Feed;

  4. Supply chain infrastructure; and

  5. Business securities including but not limited to shares etc. in going concern enterprises focused on the development and growth of high quality food systems.

The Digi Units provide the mechanism by which a wide range of stakeholders can:

  1. Back farmers without banking intermediaries;

  2. Support sustainable and secure food systems;

  3. Finance Land and water reparations projects; and

  4. Participate in in Global projects to deliver portfolio diversity.

What projects are looking to use REG05?

  • Project 1 – Australian beef production projects focused on regional brand provenance. We will securitise livestock, and target production programs that turn over funds every 120 days. (We call this Project BOLD = Burden of Livestock Debt.)

  • Project 2 – This project is presently being evaluated from a range of options covering South Africa, NZ and distribution development in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan as well as in the Middle East.

  • Project 3 – The next phase will look to take out bank finance of farming properties. We will look for landholdings that are committed to striving for excellence in regenerative custodianship or have strategic relevance for supply chain security. This also includes expanding best-in-class feedlot projects (fully under cover etc).

  • Project 4 – Last are active regenerative environmental activities to improve eco footprint outcomes in food production. This could include seaweed farming (reduces cattle methane), improved pasture management projects to reduce runoff etc. All projects will need IOT sensors to deliver transparency to the community.
